Friday 14th March

Friday 14th March

This week we have continued with our work about Supertato, the veggie superhero.
We have been very busy writing speech bubbles for the super veggies we made last week.
We have tried hard to remember to write our sentences with a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop.

Maths

This week the children have consolidated their understanding of the composition of numbers by investigating the numbers within 7. eg. seeing that 7 can be made of 5 and 2.

They have begun to recognise that numbers can be made by combining parts in different ways and have been encouraged to make links by considering similarities and differences in the various ways of making 7.

Parent top tips!

Here is some guidance to help with morning routines:

A well- structured morning routine can help promote a sense of order which helps you and your child start your day in a calmer manner.

Here are some tips to help establish a good routine...

- Prepare as much as you can the night before (e.g. get the uniform out, bookbag ready, packed lunch)

- Allow enough time to organise getting everything ready in the morning and allow extra time for unexpected circumstances. e.g. spilling breakfast, loosing a sock etc

- Reduce distractions and allow screens once tasks are done.

- Providing a healthy breakfast can help set your child up for the day and supports their concentration and energy levels.  e.g. weetabix, porridge with fruit, a smoothie, yoghurt, toast etc.

- A routine might look something like this...

Breakfast
Brush teeth and hair
Get dressed

-Using timers might help to motivate your child.

-Remember to use one- step instructions

-Give lots of praise to your child when they follow your instruction.

- Please make sure your child comes to school everyday with a coat, filled water bottle and their bookbag.
